This is perhaps one of my most FAVORITE episodes in this series. I don’t want to say too much except that the good parts were magnificently done. Some of it was slower than turtles crawling on a hot sunday but the rest made up for it.
The bad thing about keeping a secret from someone you love is that no matter what happens, you have to keep making more lies. Or worse, the communication between two people utterly fails. Gao Zhan experiences this first hand.
The lovers can’t fight forever, and I think the audience would have revolted if they kept this conflict going. Lu Zhen and Gao Zhan has this magnetic pull towards each other that made the episode (the latter part) pretty enjoyable to watch.
Lu Zhen’s life changes again as she becomes a Lady Official and she meets new problems and new people to whom she has to once again prove her mettle.
The fight in the palace rages on as poltics twist and turn in unpredictable ways. Wang Shang Yi is determined to see Lu Zhen never move up in the ranks while Lu Zhen’s allies fight for her fight to become a Lady Official. Lu Zhen’s creativity shines through this episode.
The romance and the politics move forward. Lu Zhen’s political life is heating up as well as her closeness with Gao Zhan. We move from the focus between the two of them to the rest of the players. This is the episode that the Emperor Shines.
First of all, I apologize for the delay in uploading. This week has been topsy-turvy for me and I haven’t been able to catch my breath. This episode is where we see the relationship tiptoe quite a bit from cute shy couple to public declarations of affection.
