Sound of the Desert Song Translation -The World I’ve Pacified For You

This was by far my favorite song of the entire set. Head over to Suteki Da Ne for the Ending Song in Sound of the Desert! It’s poignantly hopeful and you can imagine the lonely solider who chose duty over love because of love. Here’s the translation:

(The World I’ve Pacified For You) – 李剑青 (Li Jian Qing)
Song By :李剑青
I dare not gaze at that crescent moon
For it looks like your lovely brow, hung high in the sky
Shining over the great desert, my longing has no end
I will not blame the long years of desperate, bloody battles
As long as one day I can return home
And taste a slice of contentment that comes from sharing the sunset with you
Let my arms
Be the city walls that protect you
And if I fall
也相约在天堂 – let’s promise to meet in heaven
So let the contrary wind’s wild ambition
Dry the last trail of tears
And we resolutely head forward, towards life and death
Let my arms
Be the city walls that protect you
And if I fall
就相约在天堂 – let’s promise to meet in heaven
Because I know that you too are hopefully gazing
At the moon, waiting for me to come back
To become the City Walls that can protect you
The General’s Command is as sudden as the rushing comet
I have not stopped longing for you since
War and destruction have become my peace and home
This war, no one knows who will win
And lonely soldiers often go pray at Lian Mountain
The horse’s leap in battle
哪怕生命是代价 – can determine the cost of life or death
Let my arms
Be the city walls that protect you
And if I fall
也相约在天堂 – let’s promise to meet in heaven
So let the contrary wind’s wild ambition
Dry the last trail of tears
And we resolutely head forward, towards life and death
Let my arms
Be the city walls that protect you
And if I fall
就相约在天堂 – let’s promise to meet in heaven
Because I know that you too are hopefully gazing
At the moon, waiting for me to come back
To become the City Walls that can protect you
So let my arms
Become your city walls
And if I fall
Let’s promise to meet in heaven
And even if my blood turns into blooming red safflowers
Let me fall
On your soil
So I will never have to wander
So I can exist
On your soil
And nurture all your hopes and dreams
Let my arms
Be the city walls that protect you
And if I fall
也相约在天堂 – let’s promise to meet in heaven
So let the contrary wind’s wild ambition
Dry the last trail of tears
And we resolutely head forward, towards life and death
Let my arms
Be the city walls that protect you
And if I fall
就相约在天堂 – let’s promise to meet in heaven
Because I know that you too are hopefully gazing
At the moon, waiting for me to come back
To become the City Walls that can protect you
Wait for my return, so I can silently give
The heavens that I have conquered for you

  1. Of the 4 songs currently released for Da Mo Yao, I probably like 為你平定的天下 least because its melody is so melancholy and when you put A-Shin’s lyrics on such a tune, it seemed to take away all positive energy. =(

My favourite song is 好好過, maybe because the melody is closer to pop (the other 2 are perfect for a period piece) and I’m a Jiu-ye fan. Just wondering if 有一種勇氣叫放棄 is from Jiu-ye/Jin Yu’s POV?

    *SEMI-SPOILER*

I stopped reading the novel when the final OTP became obvious, so I don’t know how Jin Yu and Huo Qu Bing’s relationship developed from there…It’s really difficult for me to watch DMY now, because I need to constantly remind myself not to get too involved in the Jiu-ye Jin Yu arc, to keep repeating Jin Yu’s words, that when she arrived at the city, she was looking for Huo Qu Bing. Yes, Huo Qu Bing Huo Qu Bing! Jiu-ye is just a detour to the final destination, stop shipping them!!!! >_<
