I’m usually a pretty private person, but I think this was one of the coolest things I got to do because of my job this year. I work in the video gaming industry, and while I haven’t been doing it for very long, I went to my very first E3 today. More pictures below.
For anyone who doesn’t know, E3 is where video game makers take their games to, and show off to the professional video game community.
The sheer amount of male bodies scrabbling and (sometimes lying on the floor like dead logs) and scrambling to get in line for Demos for AAA games (Sony, Microsoft, etc) was astoundingly long.
Unsurprisingly the line for the girls’ bathroom was extremely short. (This is not a female dominated industry.)
It was an orgasmic light show bathed in the glow of new, promising demos, it made me want to buy new games, play new demos, and talk with my fellow video gamer people about upcoming games. Granted I later talked to some of the people who worked on some of the video games and they laughed at my naivete in re to just how polished the games that are coming out really are. (the answer is that not very, it’s just to get the community talking.)
I had a lot of fun. Oculus Rift and Morphius (Virtual Reality Gaming) are as sexy as can be, (I already tried 1st gen Oc. Rift) but once its on your head – both of them makes the wearer look silly, hence the term – nerd goggles
